Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Tian Yuan Law Firm and Conyers have advised China’s New Oriental Education & Technology on its HK$10.13 billion ($1.31 billion) secondary offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with Herbert Smith Freehills and Jia Yuan Law Offices counselling the joint sponsors and underwriters.

Established in 1993,  provides private educational services in China. The company debuted on the New York Stock Exchange in 2006 as the first overseas-listed Chinese education company.

The listing is the latest in the recent burst of secondary listings in Hong Kong. It follows in the footsteps of companies like Yum China Holdings, Zai Lab, ZTO Express and Huazhu Group.

The Herbert Smith Freehills team was led by partners Matt Emsley and Zhong Wang.

The Skadden team was advised partners Julie Gao, Christopher Betts, Paloma Wang and Haiping Li.  

Partner Wynne Lau led the Conyers team.
