Silicon Valley law firm Cooley has hired fund formation expert Sean Murphy as a partner in Singapore from fellow U.S. firm Shearman & Sterling, where he was a counsel.

With more than a decade in the industry, Murphy has experience in private fund structuring and formation, limited partner investments and co-investments, private equity, venture capital real estate, infrastructure, credit, special situations, and hedge strategies.

Murphy becomes the third partner in Cooley’s Singapore office, which was established in January last year. In August, Cooley brought Cooley GO, its tech-resource platform for entrepreneurs, to Asia.
