U.S. firm King & Spalding has hired Michael E. Arruda as a senior counsel in Hong Kong from Baker Botts, where he was partner-in-charge of the firm’ Beijing and Hong Kong offices.

Baker Botts announced the closure of its Beijing office last year.

Arruda, who has more than four decades of practice, represents clients in the oil and gas industry on competitive tenders and auctions, data acquisitions, joint studies, joint ventures, and joint operations.

Before Baker Botts, Arruda was a partner at Jones Day.
