Stephenson Harwood has lost two more partners in Hong Kong: Commercial litigation expert Richard Wilmot has joined local firm Tanner De Witt as consultant, while energy specialist Marco Pocci has moved to MB Kemp’s newly opened office in London.

Their departures follow those of Ian Devereux and Silvia On to Charles Russell Speechlys. Stephenson Harwood has also seen a partner exit in Singapore, with Timothy Cooke joining Reed Smith.

Following these exits, Stephenson Harwood now has 22 partners in Hong Kong.

Pocci becomes the latest former Stephenson Harwood partner to join Hong Kong boutique MB Kemp, which was set up by Malcolm Kemp and Yeeling Wan, former partners at the UK firm, in September 2020. In November, MB Kemp hired Voon Keat Lai, Stephenson Harwood’s managing partner for Greater China, and partner Ivy Wong. Lai joined the new firm as its managing partner.

Specialising in dispute resolution and insolvency work, MB Kemp has recently established offices in London and Milan.

Pocci, who joined Stephenson Harwood from Winston & Strawn in 2019, focuses on energy and infrastructure, advising clients on regulatory, contract negotiations, finance and construction.

Wilmot, who joined Stephenson Harwood from Watson, Farley & Williams in 2016, is experienced in commercial, trading and investment dispute resolution, multi-jurisdictional commercial cases involving debt recovery, and shareholder and joint venture issues. He joins Tanner De Witt following the hire of Kevin Warburton from Magic Circle firm Slaughter and May in September last year.
