Morrison & Foerster has brought on board litigation expert Takahiro Nonaka as a partner in Tokyo from DLA Piper.

Nonaka focuses on cross-border commercial litigation, investigations, and compliance issues including anti-corruption, antitrust, data privacy, government, and regulatory matters.

Nonaka, who began his career as a judge in 2000, served in district courts in Japan for almost 10 years. In 2010, he joined Sidley Austin for a six-year stint and was at DLA Piper since 2019.

Nonaka is Morrison & Foerster’s first partner hire in Tokyo since it added corporate specialist Jeremy White from Baker McKenzie last October.
