U.S. law firm Greenberg Traurig has bolstered its presence in Korea after hiring corporate lawyers Eun Sang Hwang (L) and Jang Hyuk Yeo as shareholders.
Yeo joins from Korean law firm Lee & Ko, where he spent more than nine years, Hwang, previously a counsel at Greenberg Traurig, re-joins the firm after a four-month stint at Paul Hastings.
The hires come a few months after Greenberg Traurig’s Seoul office lost Iksoo Kim to Paul Hastings.
Yeo focuses his practice on M&A, joint ventures, capital markets, foreign investments, private equity transactions, and other general corporate matters.
Meanwhile, Hwang’s practice focuses on capital markets transactions, with his experience including representing issuers and underwriters in U.S. SEC-registered and unregistered securities offerings by foreign private and sovereign issuers on a standalone basis or pursuant to a shelf or medium-term note programme.
With the two new hires, Greenberg Traurig now has five lawyers in Seoul, including four shareholders.
