Offshore law firm Harneys has expanded its investment funds practice in Hong Kong with the hire of Yucheng Fan as a partner from Maples Group.

Fan specialises in Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands fund matters, advising on private equity, venture capital, corporate capital, and hedge funds.

He previously worked with Japan Big Four firm Anderson Mori Tomotsune for six years, including as a member of the China desk. This stint include a one-year secondment at German law firm Hengeler Mueller.

With the addition of Fan, Harneys now has 11 partners in Hong Kong.
