Thailand-headquartered Tilleke & Gibbins has hired Derrick Khoo as a partner in Bangkok from Myanmar-focused conglomerate Marga Group, where he was general counsel.

With experience in cross-border M&A, growth equity investments, real estate, foreign direct investments, JVs and other corporate and commercial transactions, Khoo has worked in Hong Kong, Thailand, Mainland China and Singapore.

Prior to joining Marga Group in 2015, Khoo worked with law firms Linklaters, Dewey & LeBoeuf, Baker McKenzie and Allen & Gledhill.

With Khoo’s hire, Tilleke now has 29 partners across its offices in six Southeast-Asian countries.
