Vincent Connor, head of Pinsent Masons’ Hong Kong office and a former head of Asia for the firm, passed away on Oct. 5 following a period of illness.

Connor, who is survived by his wife, joined Pinsent Masons in the UK in 1998. He relocated to Hong Kong in 2007, and over the past 14 years, had worked on a number of notable engineering projects in the SAR.

A disputes lawyer specialising in construction and engineering law, Connor was also the chairman of the International Infrastructure Forum of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and honorary legal advisor to the Institution of Civil Engineers in Hong Kong. Additionally, he sat on Pinsent Masons’ global advocacy team.

Richard Foley, senior partner at Pinsent Masons, said: “We are so deeply saddened by the loss of our friend, partner and colleague. Vincent had a profound impact on those around him. He was of course a talented lawyer and inspiring leader but what we all remember is Vincent the man - a true gentleman who was unfailingly kind, funny and ever thoughtful of others.”
