Maritime lawyer Mei Lin Goh, head of Watson Farley & Williams’ (WFW) Singapore office, has passed away following a battle with cancer.

In a statement, the firm said Goh was “loved and respected by all who knew and worked with her and will be hugely missed. WFW just won’t be the same without her.” It added the firm was “still coming to terms with the huge hole which will be left by losing our dear colleague.”

A specialist in cross-border asset, project and structured finance transactions in the maritime and logistics and energy sectors, Goh was involved in a number of high-profile projects, including the bankruptcy of Hanjin Shipping, and Hapag-Lloyd’s takeover of United Arab Shipping Company.

Goh began her legal career in 1991, and joined the legacy Khattar Wong & Partners on her return to Singapore from the UK in 1994. In 1997, she moved to the legacy Sinclair Roche & Temperley, which was acquired by WFW the following year.

Goh is survived by her husband and two teenage daughters.
