Indian law firm SNG & Partners has expanded its presence in the southern part of the country after entering into an alliance with R&P Partners.

The 17-partner SNG, established in 1962, currently has offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Singapore. Following the alliance with R&P, it will also have a presence in Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Cochin, Madurai and Visakhapatnam.

R&P, established in 1981, mainly focuses on dispute resolution, corporate and commercial issues, intellectual property, audit and due diligence, litigation and real estate.

The past year or two have seen a number of Indian law firms looking to grow their footprint in the South. In March this year, IndusLaw merged with real-estate-focused outfit ASLF, which has offices in the southern cities of Bengaluru and Chennai.
