Barbara Voskamp, the head of the Singapore office of Dutch law firm Loyens & Loeff, has joined DLA Piper as a partner in its tax practice in the city-state.

Voskamp specialises in international tax and advises financial institutions and multinationals on structuring cross-border investments, with a focus on tax structuring, corporate implementation, and transactions.

She had two stints at Loyens & Loeff, the second stint beginning in 2017 when she re-joined the firm from EY, where she was an international tax services partner and global tax desk leader for ASEAN and Oceania. Prior to joining EY in 2015, she ran her own boutique tax law firm, VoskampLawyers, in Singapore for more than six years.

For DLA, she marks the firm’s fourth partner hire across Asia since December. The other three are M&A lawyer Xin Fang (from Mayer Brown) and banking expert Trinh Hoang (from Linklaters) in Hong Kong; and projects and energy specialist Peter Armstrong (from  Nishimura & Asahi) in Tokyo.

With Voskamp joining the firm, DLA Piper has 10 partners in Singapore. Meanwhile, media reports say that Loyens & Loeff is pulling out of Singapore, leaving Tokyo as its sole remaining Asia outpost.
