Philippine law firm DivinaLaw has recruited energy specialists Jose M. Layug, Jr. and Richie Avigale Ramos-Pilares as senior partners from Puno & Puno Law Office.

With nearly three decades of experience, Layug advises mainly on renewable energy development. He joined Puno & Puno in 2013 as he was a senior partner. Prior to that, Layug worked for SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan.

Between 2010 and 2012, Layug served as Undersecretary of the Philippines’ Department of Energy, during which he headed the Renewable Energy Management Bureau, Energy Resources Development Bureau, Energy Utilization Management Bureau, Oil Industry Management Bureau and Legal Services.

Ramos-Pilares advises on renewable energy matters including energy policy as well as M&A, corporate law and commercial litigation among other things. She worked for Puno & Puno since 2008.

With these additions, the number of DivinaLaw partners is now 25.
