Sullivan & Cromwell has nabbed financing and restructuring expert Jacqueline Wenchen Tang as a partner in Hong Kong from fellow U.S. firm Kirkland & Ellis.
With nearly 17 years of experience, Tang advises corporate, credit fund, private equity and financial institution clients on restructuring and financing matters, including cross-border debt restructurings and liability management transactions.
Her notable work includes advising on the restructuring of over $19 billion in offshore bonds issued by China Evergrande Group and its subsidiaries, the restructuring of around $5.8 billion in offshore bonds and perpetual securities issued by Yuzhou Group, and the restructuring of about $4.6 billion offshore bonds and perpetual securities issued by CIFI Holdings.
Having started her career with Clifford Chance in New York in 2006, Tang moved to Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in 2011, and then to Kirkland in 2016.
Tang’s addition means Sullivan & Cromwell now has four partners in Hong Kong.
