Southeast Asian law and tax firm DFDL has hired corporate lawyers Afriyan Rachmad (L) and Jade Hwang as partner and foreign counsel, respectively, in Jakarta from Roosdiono & Partners, the Indonesian member of the ZICO Law network. The duo join DFDL’s local association firm, Nusantara DFDL Partnership.

With more than 18 years of experience, Rachmad advises on projects and infrastructure, corporate, commercial and M&A, as well as dispute resolution and litigation, including arbitration, civil cases, employment, industrial relations, competition and anti-trust matters and criminal cases. Rachmad joined Roosdiono in 2009 and became a partner in 2014. Prior to that, he was at Hermawan, Prasetyo & Juniarto.

Meanwhile, Hwang, who was a partner at Malaysia’s Zaid Ibrahim & Co, the hub firm of the Zico Law network, advises on cross-border M&A, joint ventures and corporate restructuring. She joined Zaid Ibrahim in 2013 and moved to Jakarta to join Roosdiono in 2016. She earlier had a stint at another network firm, Cambodia’s Sok Siphana & Associates.

Nusantara DFDL Partnership now has three partners, including Rachmad and Sri Ningsih, who was recently promoted to the partnership.
