Walalangi & Partners has advised Mitsubishi Corporation’s local unit MC Urban Development Indonesia (MCUDI), on its strategic partnership with the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) and asset manager ESR group to invest in warehouse facilities in the Southeast Asian country.

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and Assegaf Hamzah & Partners represented INA, while Makarim & Taira S and King & Wood Mallesons represented ESR. The value of the investment was not disclosed.

Through the agreement, MCUDI, INA and ESR will develop smart logistics centres, Walalangi said in a statement. MCUDI was established in 2021 as Mitsubishi Corporation’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Indonesia to enter the country’s expanding real estate market.

The Cleary team was headed by partner Gabriele Antonazzo, with help from partner Chris Lee.

The Walalangi team was led by managing partner Luky Walalangi, with support from partners Miriam Andreta and Hans Adiputra Kurniawan.

The Makarim team was led by partner Frederick Simandjuntak.
