White & Case’s Indonesian alliance firm Witara Cakra Advocates (WCA) had expanded its debt finance offerings with the addition of Cindy Riswantyo as a partner from global rival Allen & Overy.
Riswantyo was previously a counsel in A&O’s Indonesian partner firm Ginting & Reksodiputro’s banking and finance, projects and debt restructuring practice groups. Her clients include commercial lenders, development banks, project developers, private equity firms and government guarantee funds.
“With the rise in public-private partnerships (PPPs) in Indonesia, Cindy has also advised on risk allocation in PPP structures and concession agreements, including working with government agencies involved in PPP projects,” White & Case said in a statement.
Riswantyo becomes WCA’s third partner in Jakarta, joining Fajar Ramadhan, who also focuses on debt financing, restructuring and debt capital markets, and equity capital markets partner Kristo Molina.
"The addition of Cindy underlines our enduring commitment to Indonesia and our determination to continue growing our role advising clients on their most important deals in the market." Eliza McDougall, head of White & Case’s global debt finance practice, said in a statement.
She also becomes White & Case’s third partner hire in Asia this year, following the additions of Sophie Lyall and Wilfred Ho in Hong Kong.
The global law firm saw a string of departures in the first half of the year. Partners Jon Bowden and Tabitha Saw left the firm in Singapore to join Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Morrison Foerster, respectively.
In April, a team led by former partner Keisuke Imon joined Watson Farley & Williams to open its Tokyo office. White & Case also saw Seoul local partner Sarah Park join K&L Gates in Singapore the same month.
In Hong Kong, the firm’s then Greater China disputes leader, Melody Chan, took her practice to Allen & Overy in February.
