Indian law firm Trilegal has continued its aggressive expansion with a 13th partner hire in 2023, adding corporate partner Rachita Bhat from S&R Associates in New Delhi.

Bhat specialises in investments in the manufacturing, commercial real estate and warehousing, and education sectors, as well as acquisitions by REITs/InvITs.

She has advised on certain landmark transactions, including the acquisition of Embassy TechVillage by Embassy REIT, one of the first acquisition transactions by a listed REIT in India, and the acquisition of Embassy Industrial Parks by Blackstone, which was one of the largest M&A deals in the warehousing space.

Trilegal has hired a string of partners this year, including Abhinav Maker and an eight-partner heist from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas. Other hires include disputes experts Milanka Chaudhury, who joined from Dentons Link Legal, and Tanmay Patnaik, who moved from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

The firm also hired Adani’s head of litigation, Payel Chatterjee, in Mumbai.

Bhat’s addition brings the number of partners at Trilegal to 113.
