Singapore law firm Rajah & Tann has bolstered its disputes offering with the addition of litigation partners Jerald Foo (L) and Yoon Min Joo. They join from Selvam, Duane Morris’ Singapore JLV firm, and Harry Elias Partnership, respectively.

Foo, who leaves Selvam a year after joining from Oon & Bazul, focuses his practice on commercial litigation and international arbitration. His practice areas include cross-border disputes, company law, banking law, equity and trust, joint venture and shareholder disputes, restructuring and insolvency, fraud and asset recovery, employment, international trade, and oil and gas.

Foo’s clients have included global conglomerates, international banks, Singapore-listed companies and high net-worth individuals. He spent a year at Oon & Bazul, moving there from Cavenagh Law, the Singapore law firm of Clifford Chance.

Yoon, who was an of counsel at Harry Elias, has a decade of experience handling family and matrimonial disputes. She will also serve as the firm’s relationship lawyer with the Korean Association of Singapore, the Korean Embassy of Singapore, and their associate Korean firms in Korea and Singapore.

They become Rajah & Tann’s first partner hires in Singapore since Paul Ng joined in August from Milbank to head its aviation practice. The firm also hired arbitration partner Vanina Sucharitkul in Bangkok earlier in the year.

The 200-plus partner firm also lost a few disputes partners in Singapore this year. Danny Ong and Wern-Jhien Yam left to set up boutique firm Setia Law in April. And John Seow left in September to head the litigation practice at Incisive Law.
