Indian law firm Trilegal has continued to bolster its ranks, adding tax attorney Dhruv Gupta as a partner from Lumiere Law Partners in New Delhi.
Gupta is Trilegal’s 16th partner hire this year, and comes two weeks after the addition of real estate partner Monika Bhonsale from AZB & Partners in Mumbai. The 116-partner firm also added corporate governance lawyer Sampath Rajagopalan as a partner from EY in November.
Gupta, who had been a partner at Lakshmikumaran and Sridharan before joining Lumiere, has almost 15 years of experience advising clients on international tax, customs and indirect tax. He worked at the European law firm LightHouse LHLF based in Paris, where he advised multinational companies facing customs and VAT issues in the EU.
Gupta specialises in representing clients in the metals, chemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and automobiles sectors in trade remedy cases like anti-dumping, countervailing duty, and safeguards during the investigation phase and subsequently in court and WTO proceedings.
Lumiere Law also lost real estate partner Nishant Arora to Kochhar & Co in October.
