Beijing-based DOCVIT Law Firm has expanded its footprint by opening a new office in Hong Kong, the firm's tenth branch overall, amid a growing influx of mainland Chinese legal practices in the city.
The new office will engage in a variety of practice areas such as cross-border litigation and enforcement, family trusts, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, bond funds, and overseas listings, reflecting the firm's broad legal expertise.
This move comes as Hong Kong's legal sector continues to attract mainland law firms, with the Law Society of Hong Kong reporting that 14 such firms have now secured local licenses, and an additional 29 operate as registered foreign law firms.
DOCVIT's latest expansion is strategically positioned to enhance its service network in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), supporting its aim to bolster its international service system, the firm said in a statement.
The firm, which also has offices in major Chinese cities including Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Wuhan, views its new Hong Kong branch as a key step in its ongoing growth and international outreach, it added.
