U.S. law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has hired Daniel Abercromby as a partner in its Hong Kong office from White & Case, where he was a joint leader of the Asia Sponsor Finance practice.

Abercromby, who joins Gibson Dunn's Global Finance practice, represents private equity funds, credit funds and their portfolio companies in leveraged financings, acquisition financings, direct lending transactions and special situations investments across the Asia-Pacific region.

Abercromby’s clients have included Advent International, DigitalBridge, and TPG Capital. He advised Advent on leveraged financings for acquisitions of RA Chem Pharma, Eureka Forbes and TTK Healthcare's pharma business.

Abercromby joined White & Case in 2020 from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, prior to which he was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis. He worked at the legacy Allen & Overy and New Zealand law firm Mayne Wetherell earlier in his career.

Gibson Dunn now has 42 lawyers in Hong Kong, including 13 partners.
