U.S. law firm Dorsey & Whitney has enhanced its capital markets capabilities in Hong Kong with the addition of Rachel Han as a partner from Dentons.

Han has over a decade of experience advising on China-based companies and underwriters in capital markets transactions, including IPOs, follow-on offerings and secondary offerings, and public company disclosure and compliance work.

She has advised listing entities, selling shareholders and underwriters on numerous listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange including Zhihu, Tat Hong Equipment Service Co, China Gas Industry Investment Holdings, Watts International Maritime Engineering, Nissin Foods Company, Precision Tsugami (China) Corporation, and China Creative Home Group.

“As a market leader in Dorsey’s capital markets practice, Rachel serves the Firm’s Asian-based clients in both Hong Kong and the U.S. Rachel’s practice focuses on equity capital markets, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisition transactions. She also has extensive experience in general commercial work. Rachel’s clients engage in various industries including consumer, infrastructure and construction, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, automotive, renewable energy, investment, and financial services,” said Janet Wong, head of Dorsey’s Hong Kong office, in a statement.

Han joins Dorsey as Hong Kong capital markets are experience one of their slowest years in the last decade, but the second half of 2024 promises a strong pipeline of IPOs, particularly from Chinese companies.

Global law firm Morrison Foerster has announced that private equity veteran Scott Jalowayski will rejoin the firm as a partner in Singapore. Jalowayski most recently co-chaired the global private equity group at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
