Japan’s Tokyo International Law Office (TKI) has expanded further by bringing on board experienced arbitrator Earl Rivera-Dolera as a partner from Vietnamese firm Frasers Law Company, where she led the international arbitration practice.

Rivera-Dolera’s career spans multiple jurisdictions including Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Japan, during which she has served in various roles including chair of the tribunal, sole arbitrator, and co-arbitrator in arbitration cases across Asia.

With involvement in over 180 arbitration, mediation, and cross-border litigation matters worldwide, Rivera-Dolera has worked with arbitral institutions such as ICC, SIAC, JCAA, and VIAC, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations.

Her experience covers disputes arising from areas such as M&A transactions, cross-border sale of goods, construction and engineering, licensing, and distributorship.

Rivera-Dolera's expertise also extends across sectors such as oil and gas, renewable energy, mining, commodities, shipping, maritime, shipbuilding, technology, medical devices, and real estate development.

"Earl's background, track record, legal acumen, and global reach will further enhance our firm's international arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution practice. We are excited to welcome her aboard,” the firm said in a statement.

Rivera-Dolera's appointment is expected to bolster TKI's standing in international dispute resolution. With her arrival, the firm now boasts a team of 38 lawyers.

Founded in 2019, TKI has been actively expanding this year, having hired Makiko Kawamura to launch a new tax practice, and construction expert Hojung Jun from Baker McKenzie, in September. The firm also added disputes experts Victor Sai and Yuri Aihara in June.
