Legal Solutions, Kennedys’ Singapore joint law venture firm, has hired commercial litigation and international arbitration specialist Kevin Tan as a director from Big Four firm Rajah & Tann, where he was a partner.

Tan brings extensive experience in handling commercial disputes in Singapore courts and international arbitrations across various sectors, including commodities, energy, and technology. His expertise spans joint ventures, oil and gas, shipping, shareholder, investor-state, fraud, and employment matters, with a particular focus on cross-border disputes.

Tan joined Rajah & Tann from WongPartnership in 2017, becoming a partner there shortly afterwards. His career also includes roles at the Attorney General's Chambers and the Supreme Court of Singapore. Tan is currently vice-chair of the International Chamber of Commerce's Singapore Arbitration Group and fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

“Kevin’s arrival significantly bolsters our Singapore disputes practice and enhances our ability to provide specialist expertise in energy and commodities arbitrations,” said Julian Wallace and Kevin Kwek, joint Singapore managing partners at Kennedys, in a statement.

The addition of Tan follows Kennedys' recent appointment of Mark Errington to lead its property and energy practice in Singapore and Asia.

Kennedys currently has 14 partners in Singapore, including two directors of Legal Solutions – Tan and Robson Lee, who joined last year.
