Seladore Legal, a London-based disputes-only law firm, has announced the appointment of Liang-Ying Tan as a partner, signalling its intent to establish a presence in Singapore.

Tan, currently based in New York, will relocate to her native Singapore to spearhead Seladore's expansion in the city-state. The firm is set to apply for a Foreign Law Practice licence in Singapore imminently.

The move underscores Seladore's strategy to provide specialist expertise from key global hubs. Tan joins the firm after a decade at Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) in New York and has also worked at Rajah & Tann and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher.

“Liang-Ying's expertise and familiarity with both the region and our firm's culture will be invaluable assets as we look to establish our presence in Singapore," said Simon Bushell, senior partner at Seladore, in a statement.

Seladore Legal, founded in 2020 by Bushell and Gareth Keillor, specializes in complex litigation and arbitration, with a focus on multi-party, multi-jurisdictional disputes. All seven of the firm's partners previously worked at HSF.
