Sino-Australian law firm King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has enhanced its debt capital markets expertise with the hire of Andy Ferris as a partner from Hogan Lovells in Singapore.

Ferris possesses more than two decades of experience in capital markets and structured finance. He advises issuers, underwriters, and trustees on debt and equity-linked instruments across the Asia-Pacific region, with particular emphasis on sustainable and social impact finance.

His experience includes managing Euro medium-term note (EMTN) programmes, executing structured finance transactions, and handling complex liability management operations. Ferris’ practice encompasses both conventional and innovative financial instruments, including green bonds and social impact bonds.

In 2015, he was named on Asian Legal Business' inaugural 40 Under 40 list. 

Ferris joined Hogan Lovells in Hong Kong in 2014. He previously had two stints at the legacy Allen & Overy, and worked at the erstwhile Mallesons Stephen Jaques. 

With his appointment, KWM now has 12 lawyers in Singapore, including 10 partners. They include banking partner Gary Hamp, who joined the office early last year. 

In March, M&A partner Jake Robson left to join Greenberg Traurig.
