Indian law firm L&L Partners, which recently saw 21 former partners join DSK Legal, has announced that it has consolidated its various practice areas into a single firm structure.
According to a release from the firm, its corporate and litigation practices were previously housed in two separate firms. “The new structure enhances the firm's capabilities by bringing in greater synergies and unified governance under a new executive committee,” the release from L&L added.
Earlier this month, DSK Legal hired 63 former lawyers of L&L, including Delhi-based senior partners Bobby Chandhoke and Sudhir Sharma. The departures occurred after L&L dissolved its litigation arm, and gave the lawyers the option of leaving or joining the unified structure.
As partner of its rebuilding efforts, L&L has hired restructuring and insolvency expert Shivani Sinha as partner in Mumbai from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM), where she was a counsel. Sinha, who also worked at Link Legal previously, represents banks and financial institutions at various courts and tribunals in restructuring and finance matters.
L&L has also hired 20 managing associates and associates across its general corporate, TMT, capital markets, banking and finance, indirect tax, competition, dispute resolution, and restructuring and finance practices.
With these new hires, L&L now has 320 lawyers, including 60 partners, across its offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
