Japanese law firm Miura & Partners has announced plans to open a new office in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 2025, marking its latest move in an aggressive global expansion strategy.

The Bangkok office will be the firm's third Southeast Asian outpost, following its entry into Indonesia and Vietnam in recent years. Miura & Partners also operates offices in London and San Francisco, underlining its international ambitions.

The new office will by Ryoichi Inoue, lead partner of Miura's Southeast Asia/South Asia practice. It aims to provide comprehensive legal, taxation, and accounting services to Japanese companies operating in Thailand. The Bangkok office will focus on supporting M&A transactions, new business expansion, fraud investigations, and dispute resolution.

The team in Thailand will initially comprise three to four Thai lawyers, with additional support from Taro Tanaka, an expert in Asian dispute resolution, business and human rights.

Headquartered in Tokyo, and with other Japanese offices in Hiroshima and Nagoya, the 2019-founded Miura & Partners now has over 100 lawyers. The firm collaborates with M&P Asia Corporation, a consulting firm it co-founded in 2021, specializing in Asian and emerging markets.
