Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow has expanded in Singapore with the hire of Kenny Kwan, formerly the head of the capital markets practice at Drew & Napier, and arbitration partner Ashish Chugh, who joins from K&L Gates.

Kwan moved to Drew early last year from Allen & Overy, which he joined as a partner in 2009. He was earlier at Singaporean boutique Venture Law. Kwan acts for issuers and underwriters counsel on Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia capital market transactions as well as US-registered and Rule 144A/Regulation S offerings.

Meanwhile, Chugh’s practice focuses on international commercial arbitration, investment treaty and cross-border commercial disputes with an emphasis on the IMT and EMI sectors.

Chugh and Kwan’s appointments come some months after Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow hired real estate specialists Geraldine Ong and Sharon Tan in June.
