Foley & Lardner has hired Philippe Riesen as a partner in the firm’s intellectual property department and chemical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical practice in Tokyo from Hogan Lovells.
 
Riesen, who has been assisting Japanese companies with U.S. patent litigation and counseling for more than 25 years, is experienced in IP disciplines including U.S. and multi-district litigation and dispute resolution; America Invents Act (AIA) post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trials and Appeal Board (PTAB) at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO); licensing strategy, drafting and negotiation; commercialization and technology transfer; product and invention due diligence and valuation; patent landscaping and monetization; patent portfolio management; patent prosecution; and regulatory advice and strategies.
