Clifford Chance has appointed regulatory and enforcement expert Jimmy Chan in Hong Kong office from the city’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), where he was a director and head of the International and Policy team within the Enforcement Division.

Chan worked with international securities regulators like the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the US Securities and Exchange Commission to to handle cross-border investigatory and enforcement issues. He also worked with Hong Kong domestic regulators including the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Insurance Authority in relation to enforcement and anti-money laundering matters.

During his 14 years at the SFC, Chan managed a broad spectrum of international regulatory and enforcement actions, including disciplinary and enforcement proceedings, international cross-border securities litigation and representing the SFC in Securities and Futures Appeals proceedings.
