King & Wood Mallesons has strengthened its construction practice in Hong Kong by appointing Sam Farrands as the head of projects from Australia’s MinterEllison.

Farrands’ expertise is in infrastructure, energy, water, and wastewater sectors, as well as public private partnerships (PPP). At Minters, Farrands led the team to advise Hong Kong’s first and second PPP – Chek Lap Kok airport’s HK$2.3 billion international exhibition centre and the SkyCity Hotel development.

Farrands is the second construction partner hire for KWM in Hong Kong this year. The firm snapped up Donovan Ferguson from Ashurst in February.
