Leading Malaysian law firm Adnan Sundra & Low has bolstered its disputes offering with the addition of a six-attorney team from local boutique Steven Thiru & Sudhar Partnership (STSP) led by the firm’s senior partner Sudharsanan Thillainathan.

Sudharsanan, who joins as equity partner, is joined by partners Dawn Wong and Tania Edward, senior associate Yee Lin Ng, and associates Bala Ravi Sankar and Lee Jing Long.

Sudharsanan has more than 25 years of experience in dispute resolution, specialising in civil and commercial litigation and commercial arbitration, domestic and cross-border, across various industries. He also advises on anti-trust law and tax law.

Edward comes with over nine years of experience in tax advisory and litigation. She joined STSP in 2018, prior to which she was an associate at Shook, Lin & Bok.

Wong has close to a decade of experience in commercial dispute resolution with a focus on the construction and engineering sectors. She joined STSP in 2018, prior to which she was associate at Mah-Kamariyah & Philip Koh.

The hire is consistent with ASL’s strategy of hiring groups to fuel growth and increase offerings. In June 2024, the firm added a five-member IP, sports, and gaming group from local rival Christopher & Lee Ong (CLO), led by practice head Sri Sarguna Raj. ASL also lost a five-partner corporate team to CLO at the beginning of last year.

In 2018, ASL absorbed projects and infrastructure boutique Khem Thadani, and merged with three-partner boutique Putri Norlisa Chair.

Last year, ASL also added M&A partner Liza Uma and banking and finance partner Yong Wee Hoo.
