India’s L&L Partners has welcomed back insolvency expert Piyush Mishra as a partner in Mumbai from AZB & Partners.

Mishra’s hire comes shortly after L&L lost insolvency specialist Avinash Subramanian to AZB, the latest in a series of partner exits from the firm.

Mishra also marks the fourth time a partner has rejoined L&L since November last year, following the returns of Asim Abbas, Sonali Choudhry and Prabjot Singh Bhullar.

Focusing on project and real estate finance, securitisation, issuance of listed privately placed debentures and leveraged and distressed debt, Mishra is now back at L&L for his third stint. He first joined the firm in 2004 and came back for second spell in 2009.

Besides L&L, Mishra has also worked for the erstwhile Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co, Allen & Overy, and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.
