Indian law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas has continued the strategic expansion of its general corporate practice with the addition of partner Anant Dang in Bengaluru. Dang comes from his roles as general counsel and founding member of one of India’s fastest-growing unicorns, Mensa Brands. 

Dang brings over fourteen years of experience in M&A and corporate advisory, with a focus on the e-commerce and technology sectors. Prior to helping set up Mensa Brands in 2021, Dang was a partner at AZB & Partners. 

At Mensa, Dang worked on fundraising worth $350 million and led strategic acquisitions of 25 businesses across sectors in India, the Middle East and the United States. 

The hire is a part of SAM’s ongoing corporate practice expansion that has included the addition of partner CV Srikant from Khaitan & Co, former general counsel at troubled ed-tech giant Byju’s Roshan Thomas, Desai & Diwanji dealmaker Mahesh Wasadikarprivate equity-focused partner Nikita Goyal from IndusLaw and projects and infrastructure specialist Anjana Jamalamadaka Potti from JSA.
