A leading HK-based life insurer is looking for a junior lawyer with experience in funds or investment-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research
• Prepare legal updates and quarterly reports
• Review, draft and negotiate legal, investment or insurance related or commercial documents independently
• Provide legal advice on the activities and issues of the company and its subsidiaries and in various areas of law and take the lead and manage legal projects independently
• Serve as liaison with external law firms, and represents the company in court actions or legal negotiations
• Assist in other ad-hoc projects as assigned by supervisor from time to time
• Act as the Data Privacy Manager responsible for the Legal Department’s personal data retention
• Serve as the main point of legal contact for issues relating to data privacy laws and FATCA and CRS requirements

Key Requirements:

• Hong Kong qualified lawyer
• 3-6 years’ post qualification experience; especially experience in handling investment related transactions, experience with PRC funds would be advantageous; experience in the life insurance industry is ideal but not necessary
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Mandarin)
