Elite law firm would like to hire a Corporate associate for their Tokyo office due to increased work flow and team growth at all levels.

Our client has extensive experience in representing both Japanese and non‑Japanese companies in a broad range of transactions, including public and private acquisitions and the formation of strategic alliances and joint ventures, both in Japan and around the world.

Candidate requirements

• US qualified although EW bar would be considered
• JD from top US law school - ideally in the top 10 or 20, and if a junior associate, excellent grades will be important
• Japanese language ability - at the very least with business level Japanese (i.e. able to face off with Clients in Japanese – if not perfect ability to discuss in-depth legal issues at a native level, at least with some comfort to carry on a business conversation). 
• English – very strong English, near-native level. 
• Genuine Japan connection and desire/reason to live here and build a long-term career in Tokyo, will be critical. 
• The ideal range would be M&A associates from class years 2012-2015 (4th – 7th years).
