The Client                 

Global TV media network company providing entertainment across a portfolio of channels in Asia requires a legal counsel to be based in their Singapore office. 

The Role

Excellent opportunity to join a key player in the media network industry in APAC. The candidate will be primarily responsible for providing legal support, including the drafting and negotiation of agreements, across the different business units including the advertising and affiliate sales teams, PR and marketing teams and channel operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong drafting, negotiation and organizational skills.  Ability to independently draft and negotiate contracts including channel distribution / license agreements, advertising sales and sponsorship agreements, PR agency retainers, event management services agreements, merchandising agreements.
• Ability to provide advice and guidance on marketing campaigns, events and contests (whether on-air, online or on the ground).
• Ensure that all contracts are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
• Serve as the primary liaison for assigned business units.
• Cultivate relationships with internal clients, external counsel and business partners. 

Key Requirements

• 5-7+ PQE (at least 2 years in-house experience in the media industry.  IP experience will be beneficial).
• SG qualified preferred but other common law lawyers (E&W, ANZ, HK, US) welcome to apply
• Lawyer who is comfortable and will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where they must multi-task and managing their time to juggle competing priorities and deadlines.
• Detail oriented with strong drafting skills. 
• Ability to prioritize and manage clients’ expectations while maintaining quality of advice
• Ability to provide practical legal advice that internal clients can easily adopt and implement
• Preference to have someone that is able to review and negotiate Mandarin Chinese agreements
• Ability to deeply understand the business and strategic goals of the business as a whole
• Salary & package will be appropriate to experience and competitive
