Bingham McCutchen has elected bengoshi Yukari Murayama and Goh Aizawa to its partnership in Tokyo, strengthening the firm’s finance and regulatory practice in North Asia.

A finance expert, Murayama advises clients on restructuring and insolvency issues, as well as corporate and public company securities matters. Aizawa specialises in issues regarding financial products, particularly in derivatives-related disputes.

“Japan is undergoing unprecedented political and regulatory change,” said Hideyuki Sakai, managing partner of Bingham McCutchen’s Tokyo office, in a statement. “Yukari and Goh’s key policy and regulatory experience will be crucial for corporations doing business in Japan and in Asia.”

Bingham McCutchen has a strong presence in Japan, with its Tokyo office numbering more than 70 lawyers.
