Stephenson Harwood’s Singapore associate firm Virtus Law has kicked off its shipping and offshore finance practice with the hire of partner Colin Jarraw from Duane Morris & Selvam.
Offering Singapore law capabilities, Virtus Law specialises in corporate, maritime and commercial disputes and finance matters. The firm is headed by partners Arthur Loke, who specialises in corporate, commercial and intellectual property law, and Daryll Ng, who focuses on maritime and commercial litigation law.
Jarraw, a finance lawyer who practises in the areas of admiralty and maritime law, banking and ship finance and company law, has advised foreign and local banks in shipping loan and security documentation and has acted for shipowners on all aspects of non-contentious shipping matters, including financing and leasing transactions, advising on charterparties, shipbuilding contracts, conducting due diligence on shipping companies, and ship and mortgage registrations in the major shipping registries around the world. He has also advised both sellers and purchasers in ship sale and purchase transactions involving high-value vessels.
“We are excited about Colin's arrival. His practice will enhance our existing shipping practice,” said Loke in a statement.
