Mumbai-based boutique law firm ARA Law has added a new partner, Ashish Bhakta, to strengthen and develop its infrastructure practice.

Bhakta was previously linked with one of the oldest law firms in India, Mumbai-based Kanga & Co, and has over 10 years of experience in the legal industry, working in a range of practice areas – most significantly, infrastructure.

"Whe have in the last decade focussed our energies on developing identified practice areas and are now in the process of specialising with a partner heading each vertical," ARA Law managing partner Rajesh Begur said.

Bhakta will be ARA's third partner and at least one former Kanga & Co associate is likely to join him by the end of this week.

Bhakta said his practice will be focussed on infrastructure and securities related litigation.

ARA Law has offices in Mumbai and Bangalore, specialising in M&A, private equity, capital markets, banking and finance, infrastructure and real estate.ALB
