Sidley Austin has relocated corporate and capital markets partner Prabhat Mehta to Singapore. Mehta will return to the Lion City after six years in the firm's  New York office.

Mehta, who will lead Sidley's corporate and capital markets pratice in Singapore, has experience in a range of securities transactions – initial public offerings, offerings of high yield debt, convertible and exchangeable debt, hybrid securities and structured products.

Recently he has worked with sovereign wealth funds and major financial institutions on several recapitalisation transactions in Asia.

Since the start of his career, Mehta has devoted a significant part of his practice to India-related matters, including securities offering for major Indian business groups and emerging companies.

Sidley opened its first office in the Asian region in Singapore – in 1982. Since 2009, Sidley lawyers have acted on 20 IPOs on the HKSE and 14 high yield debt offerings.
