M&A specialist partner Piyasena Perera has left Magic Circle firm Allen & Overy to join Japanese Big Four, Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, as a special foreign counsel.

Perera, who has advised corporations, investment banks, hedge funds and private equity firms on a wide range of transactions in the US and throughout Asia  - including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, the PRC, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore – is admitted to the New York and California bars, and to the Japanese bar as a Gaikokuho Jimbu Bengoshi.

Prior to his appointment at AMT, Perera spent over seven years in Allen & Overy’s Tokyo office  as a corporate finance partner, with a practice focused on cross-border M&A, investment funds and general corporate and securities matters. He also spent two years as of counsel at life sciences specialist law firm Fenwick & West; four years at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman; and two years at Willkie Farr & Gallagher as an associate.
