Latham & Watkins has lured ex-Norton Rose Middle East banking & finance partner Anthony Pallett to join its Dubai office – a move in line with its strategy to beef up in the region.
Prior to this appointment, Pallett joined the partnership at Norton Rose in 2007, working out of the firm’s Bahrain and London offices. Pellet’s practice encompasses all aspects of banking, with particular focus on Islamic finance, corporate finance, real estate finance, telecommunications finance and export credit agency finance.
“Anthony has developed strong relationships with the largest and most active banks in the region, particularly those based in the United Arab Emirates,” Latham & Watkins office managing partner in Dubai Williers Terblanche said.
According to Latham & Watkins vice chair of the firm’s global finance department Dominic Newcomb, Pellet is “an excellent technician” whose expertise in Shar’iah - compliant and syndicated financings complements the firm’s debt capital markets practice.
Latham & Watkins has one of the largest finance practices in the region. It has 25 lawyers and six partners based in the Gulf and practices in Saudi Arabia in association with the Law Office of Mohammed A. Al-Sheikh.ALB
