UK law firm Addleshaw Goddard has entered into a formal alliance with Japan’s Hashidate Law Office.

“With the strategic alliance in place … Hashidate Law Office anticipates expanding the geographic scope of its coverage area, which … now may include fast-growing economies such as those of Dubai, Africa, and India,” said Kenji Hashidate, managing partner of Tokyo-based Hashidate Law Office, in a statement.

The Japanese alliance is Addleshaw Goddard’s latest move in its drive to expand in Asia and the Middle East. The firm opened offices in Singapore and Dubai in 2012, and opened its doors in Qatar and Hong Kong in May this year.
