Our International Law firm Client has as a reputation for exceptional quality and client commitment and are now looking to grow their Singapore offering.

In many areas, particularly technology and outsourcing, our client is hired for the depth of commercial understanding of the sector, and negotiation skills as well as the quality of the legal advice offered.

With a strong global client list and some exceptional regional work there is now room for growth in the Singapore office.

The office acts for a variety of multinational companies and early-growth stage technology businesses and our client is looking for an experienced mid-level TMT Lawyer to join the Singapore office.

The role holder will be responsible for:

• Advising clients on IP, IT and other commercial matters including, complex, high value, international trading agreements which may involve agency, distribution, data protection, IT related agreements, licensing and exploitation of intellectual property and corporate support.

• Advising clients on M&A (including joint venture) and capital raising transactions in core sectors

• Developing relationships with clients including gaining a good knowledge of the client’s businesses, economic drivers, market conditions and sector developments in order to ensure advice is commercial. Being a part the clients’ businesses, not just legal advisers is what is required here.

• Remaining up to date with the most recent technical legal and business developments and to develop sector knowledge within the IT, media, FMCG, outsourcing and other sectors the team operates in.

• Engaging in business development activities and to be active in the promotion of the firm’s services, and in seeking opportunities for new commercial work. • Working as part of a close knit team including assisting with supervision of junior lawyers, work and sharing knowledge and experience generally.

The Ideal candidate will have:
Relevant experience in a busy TMT team and with corporate work
3-5 years PQE
High attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals
Ability to use initiative and work well within a team
Highly motivated and reliable
Interested in business and how it works
Interested in new technology
Mandarin language skills and industry experience outside the law are desirable and would be an advantage, but are not essential skills to have.
