Clyde & Co has bolstered its India practice after appointing corporate lawyer John Chrisman as a partner in its Hong Kong office from Dorsey & Whitney.
Since 2004, Chrisman has led the India practice at a couple of international law firms, first at Coudert Brothers and then at Dorsey & Whitney. He spent 11 years at the latter firm, joining in Sydney and moving to Hong Kong in 2013.
Chrisman has advised companies, financial institutions and investment banks on international capital markets deals, cross-border M&A transactions and matters related to entertainment law for close to three decades.
In his new role, he will develop Clyde’s international capital markets and outbound M&A practice focused on the Indian subcontinent, APAC and MENA regions.
Chrisman also has had stints with other law firms including Jones Day, Freshfields and Sullivan & Cromwell.
