Mayer Brown has bolstered its corporate and securities practice in Hong Kong with the hire of Steven Tran as a partner from Hogan Lovells.

Tran, who joined Hogan Lovells from Kirkland & Ellis in 2014, became a partner at the latter firm in 2012. Specialising in private equity and M&A, Tran represents funds, financial institutions and corporations in cross-border deals.

At Mayer Brown, Tran is expected to work closely with private equity groups led by Perry Yam in London and Philip Brandes in New York.

Global law firm Morrison Foerster has announced that private equity veteran Scott Jalowayski will rejoin the firm as a partner in Singapore. Jalowayski most recently co-chaired the global private equity group at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
