Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has strengthened its private equity practice with the hire of Ravindra Bandhakavi as the head of that practice in from Trilegal.

Bandhakavi, who is based in Delhi, joined Trilegal as a partner from the legacy Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. He started his career at Amarchand Mangaldas in 1999 and spent the bulk of his time prior to Trilegal there, only leaving it for a three-year in-house stint starting in 2005.

With a focus on private equity and M&A transactions, Bandhakavi’s clients include private equity funds and financial institutions.

Bandhakavi’s hire is the first partner-level lateral for Cyril Amarchand since the firm brought on board Abhishek Sharma in Mumbai as co-head of its real estate practice from Khaitan & Co.
